Things haven't been going right in Vana'diel, my home (The Harbingers) had been in constant turmoil and a blink of an eye, I find myself having to decide whether to stay or leave. I considered the harbs my second home, after coming from work I anxiously anticipate meeting everyone in the linkshell and doing quest and stuff.

But I guess nothing last forever, I prouded myself in telling our leader that the harbs has seen numerous ups and downs. And that through all that I remained loyal and stayed on the shell. Later on I found myself moving farther and farther away from the harbs... until finally I couldn't stay in there no more.

I was mad, I wanted to fight with someone... I felt that someone just invaded my home and throw me out and my friends out.

But then looking at it from a different point of view... maybe I just didn't fit in the linkshell anymore... maybe its me and not them...

It's my birthday today, now I'll be 28 years older ;___; yes yes I'm growing old... I hope I'm growing wiser too. I miss my Pancakes, I wish she was here celebrating my birthday with me. I planned not to go to work today, well I was late to work, thanks to wiz, didn't realize how late I stayed up last night.

Well at least my friend got level 30 and we unlocked paladin, as for me I spent half a million gil to buy the ballad scroll, I figured by the time I complete the quest the scroll would be worth more than what I paid for now. I still need to do Utsusemi: Ichi quest and also the Opo-opo crown quest, got all the items for the crown but I guess I'm very unpopular in Windy and they wouldn't give me the quest.

I haven't played all night since I first got my copy of FFXI, right now they have an open beta, and about 4 servers are available. Account creation is pretty simple and I've never had a problem login in to a server even though it says that they are overloaded at the moment.

Guess they are still doing stress test on their equipment. It's a fun game to play, I'll post my screenshots on my photo album soon. If you do sign up meet me in the server Xian, my characters name is "Mahiyain" ^.~

I guess no other job in FFXI shares a bond much like bst masters do. It's hard to explain if you haven't played the job and especially if you've never had a duo partner.Much like how cops work and their partner, you look after each other, amazingly even jp's will duo and party with NA with no questions asked. In regular parties JP scoffs at NA's or vice versa.

...when I look at it now, it's not getting to 75 that meant so much to me as bst... it's those moments you share with other bst and those battles. Fighting NM's solo/duo/party, overcoming odds that seemed impossible for normal jobs to get out of. *cry*

Congratulations to Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao for winning the fight versus Erik Morales of Mexico. Truly you have united Filipinos all over the world in that one occasion, I wasn't able to watch the fight but I rejoiced when Panday told me that Manny won. Haven't maintained my blog and gallery lately, but I think this event warrants an entry here, coz I feel its as important as the hurricane which almost hit us.

I'm not really a boxing fan, heck I'm no fan of any sports, but I've always followed Manny's fights even when I was still in the Philippines. Saw his fights with 3-k Battery, he lost but eventually he would go back to meet him again and this time get his revenge.

His fight with Barrera is definitely my favorite, he showed no mercy to Barrera, finally in the end even though Barrera's pride wouldn't let him quit his corner thought that he had taken enough beating and threw the towel inside the ring.

A few years ago if you could see Manny fight, its all brute force, he basically just overwhelmed his foes with a flurry of punches, left hooks and power punches. But this time around Morales saw a wiser and calculating Manny Pacquiao, he demolished Morales step by step, followed the plan that was laid out by his trainer Freddie Roach. And it worked, by the sixth round I thought Morales was done for.

I found it funny when Morales' corner asked him if he was okay, later on after the fight Morales would say that he got hit so much in the head. He didn't look okay to me after that round, he may be an accurate puncher but it doesn't seem to hurt Manny, whereas Pacmans punches really had force in them. You can see Morales grimacing in pain each time he gets hit in the body and in the face with those left and rights.

Okay with regards to looks, I'd say Morales wins overall, but after the fight Manny has a far more chance of winning a beauty contest than Morales. Pacquiao rearranged his face and broke his nose into a dozen pieces! After watching the tape of the match, I don't think Morales would want to fight Manny again soon. But hey, this could be the start of something ala Gatti-Ward trilogy.

Whomever Manny meets on the ring next time, he can be rest assured that he has the support of all the Filipinos in the world. Go Pacman *chomp* *chomp*!!!

Hard to believe! I mean what are the odds!!! Survived the hurricane... a bit shaken after that... you never think of the risk of living near the coast until you get one of the awful hurricanes.

Back to the game... actually haven't done much in game... although my other character is level 18? now. Hope to duo with his highness Cheezwiz... yes I know the godly wiz of lakshmi :D

I just learned Dave's getting married... I was actually confused because I know that there was Mallory and how? why? bleh!

Its almost 12 midnight, I'm here at the Hobby Airport in Houston, I'm hoping that by tomorrow morning I'll be able to get out of here and get to safety.

Although I'm praying that the Hurricane Katrina will miss us enough to spare my humble apartment. But if you think about it, several hundred people are probably thinking of the same thing, that their home be spared.

I told Father Dwight before I left Baytown tonight that it was probably natures wrath, I mean we've screwing Mother Nature for years and years now. And I guess the lady has had enough, now its payback time and she means it big time!

One hour remaining on my battery... frak I'm hungry again, in all my confusion I brought nothing but gatorade and water with me.

Long vacation... just needed to get away from the game for awhile. Finally got to level 74... finally!!!

I also joined wiz's uber LS ( SnD/Visionaries ), took part in their god item farming and saw them fight fafnir several times.

Just love how its like wherever I go, just coz I'm a beastmaster, that I'm always the first suspect on an MPK, and to think that the LS leader would ask me if I had anything to do with MPK'ing them. LOL... maybe I should change jobs... long story...

But I guess since I'm new so no one really trust me in there...

Haven't posted anything on my blog lately, and I just noticed a pile of bitmaps piling up on my screenshot folder. It's really a very rough time for me, both in game and in RL, work is crazy, and I can't hardly find time to level my job anymore.

Lots of stuff had happened, I just recently obtained Sky access and now I can happily exp in sky with very minimal risk of death. Sky is paradise, just relaxed exp'ing, no aggro, no link and lots of fun.

The Cheez Army also got Rank 8, 2 more and we'll be happy at Rank 10.

Wiz also got his Opo Opo Crown, I'm aiming for an Optical Hat, already got one of the eye, now all I need is to get 4 more. It would sure look nice with my Scorpion Harness.

Last week I went to Austin for a conference... I was glad cause it usually is fun to go on this business trips. Nice place... nice food... don't know if I can say the same about the people but still... I had fun.

Ms. Linda is a friend of mine... we work together initially but during those times we became friends. She's the only person that I trust with everything in my life, in my work. She had breast cancer. Several surgeries should have cured her but no... that tumor continued to spread in her body.

She's a tough lady, never did she once complained about her condition... she had so much faith in God. I prayed that everything would be okay, but on the 6th, one day before my birthday I heard the news that she had passed away. It was a total surprise for me, I've heard news that she was back home and in bed... last time I remember seeing her she looked okay... but I guess her body couldn't take anymore.

The chemotheraphy didn't work, the cancer went to her lungs and she couldn't breathe... it was all too sudden... it came as a surprise to me... here I am thinking of what to say to her when I get back... of the cool and fun things I've learned. But I won't be able to now, cause she's gone...

What am I saying... she will never be gone... all the wisdom that she has shared with me will always be in my memory. The times we shared together will always be in my heart.

Shattering Stars (BST)

The moment has finally come, it is time for me to face one of the greatest challenge in the game, alone. This time I can't rely on my LS or my friends for help during the fight. I am most grateful to my BST friends who posted information on how to defeat Maat.

I waited until I reached lvl 70 to fight him, I read all the steps posted by Worm and watched the video posted by Slam one last time. After purchasing all the necessary equipment and rehearsing the steps in my head I went to Ru'lude Gardens and there Maat was waiting for me.

He teleported me to the burning circle, anxiously I put on my armor and started with the rituals of a warrior getting ready to slay his arch enemy. My skill as a white mage has been stripped off me, I am now depending on all my skills as a beastmaster, all those time that I leveled and trained were now going to be put to the test.

But one fatal move ended all my hopes, I summoned Panzer Gallahad, 2hr'd and then began drinking sleep potions. With the aid of the opo opo necklace I had gained 100% TP, I used some boiled crabs to increase my defense, drank a persikos au lait to revitalize me every 3 second.

Then I head straight to face Maat, I was so sure of victory, my black armor gleaming to what little light there was in that circle, my axe in hand ready to strike at every monster he could summon. My pet began hammering at Maat, he summoned a rabbit. What a pathetic pet rabbits make, I was pretty sure that with my 100% TP I would soon be rid of this pest.

To my surprise I couldn't use my weapon skill: Rampage, cold sweat ran through my body, panicked I checked my stats, TP @ 15%. What in the world is going on here... I tried my best to think myself out of this situation. Defeated the rabbit with still 50% HP left, he wasn't such a weak pet afterall... I tried to heal myself with the potions I brought to get ready for Maat's next pet. Somehow I was too close to my pet and Maat and he suddenly turned on me. Even with the potions my HP was in the red, to my demise he summoned a beetle.

Most of us bst think we're gods, able to get out of situations that are sometimes hopeless, where a normal class would give up, we were just getting started. Adrenaline powers us, we hunger for danger, the smell of death keeps us going back to each zone, but this is one situation I knew I wasn't gonna make it out alive. I bitterly accepted my defeat.

After further analysis I figured out the error in my way, one of my macros equipped a bow! Hence I lost the TP that I gained from using sleep potions. /em slaps his own face.

Time to rest, I slept replaying the days event through my mind... next time I know I'll be ready, I knew I could have won this fight if it wasn't for that one mistake... note to self: choke xaphan tomorrow (j/k I got the idea of using a bow for stats from xaphan).

Early morning and what a coincidence the sun was also just rising in Vana'diel, I teleported to Cape Terrigan, got a new Testimony from a goblin shepperd, teleported back to Bastok and then warped back to Jeuno. Checked my supplies and made sure everything was in order, I checked my macro and disabled the equip bow command.

I headed straight to face Maat, didn't care about changing my subjob from Black Mage to White Mage. This time I proceeded as I did last time but made sure I had 100% TP to use. A quickly disposed of his first pet with 100% TP it died quickly, then I proceeded to beat him, healed my pet, and then moved a bit further, used an Icarus wing and gained a quick 100% Tp again. Disposed of his second pet, used sic on Maat, then moved away to heal with Hi-potions x 2. Third pet I defeated it with plenty of HP left, having again 100% TP I used WS: Rampage on Maat, and finally he gave up ( I certainly would never have survived another pet attack ~.~ )

Got out of the burning circle and found out I was in Palborough mines, announced my victory to my LS and the wondered why he didn't give me a warp scroll. Later on I found out that I had a warp scroll on my mog house. But since I had Black Mage subbed I just warped and was glad to have obtained the title Maat Masher.

Beware! You have to talk to him again after this fight, my mistake was I didn't talk to him, so after a couple of leveling with Xstatic, I got 1 tnl but I wouldn't level no matter how much exp we got. Finally I talked to him and he announced that my level cap is now 75. What an idiot I have become -_-, after talking to him we headed back to Boyadha and got my level.

The Scam

What addictive online games can do to people, I feel sorry for the guy who perpetrated this scam, but I sort of understand why he did it.

Although I really feel sad for "HardHeaD", its an interesting story to read even if you don't play Eve. I was actually quite intrigued enough that when I get home I would really like to try and download the client and use their trial period.

Hmmm but then again I'm only 400k short of getting Haube... I lost count of how many times I said to myself that I'd stop leveling for a month and do nothing but help people... Lots of things I can do with bst that I couldn't do with whm before...

Each time someone says on the LS "{Hello!} anyone wanna help me with ?" Man, I really want to say "Ok I'm in what do we need to do?" But I always find myself in a situation where I'm in a party or where I've set my goals for that evening already. It bugs me that when someone ask for help everyone goes away in the LS.

Angel-Fuji: Go help him... whatever needs to be done you can do later with a good feeling that you've helped someone.
Devil-Fuji: Geez why go bother! You're this close to reaching your goal for today... 400k a couple more lizards should do the trick! Play the AH, go scam someone! Or, you're ###k TNL, why stop now?

That's why I love scheduling the LS events... I feel sad for people shouting in Jeuno /telling every freaking High Lvl they see for help. (I've done that before to get my Beaudeux key and it sux!) I really want everyone in this LS to get up in rank and get every freakin AF or Key that they need. Also makes me sad when people gets left behind on LS stuff... I always say "hmmm we'll get this done this , don't worry." Then sheet happens... and I forget... Each time I promise to help someone and I forget it haunts me more than them...

Goals, I thrive at setting goals and reaching them... failure only makes me more vigilant... lots of stuff I want and need to do right now... (haubergeon/hauberk, maat, LS keys-AFs-NM, money : not in any particular order) Then there's RL, but lets not get into that...

Rank 6 - Finally!

Finally the story of this game is getting more interesting, especially after I saw that Dark Mithra ^^ I can't wait to see her again.

I also reached Level 68 last night, thanks to the wonderful beast party we had in Cape Terrigan. My LS is more active now, although I do wish people would be more proactive with regards to activities and such.

BTW, we defeated Frostmane like three times and yet no drop! What a sucky NM, Arvalis thinks that Frostname is conspiring with Aquarius for not giving him any drops. Well I do know that Aquarius cloth is a rare drop, although one of this days I would really like to beat the living hell out of him.

I'm 300-400k short of being able to buy my Hauberk, I'm also one level too low :( Anyways I got to wear my Celata, it looks pretty cool, although I kinda get that feeling to jump on a skateboard and do an "ollie." I asked Wiz, Cheez, and Lick to help me in Fei'yin for the Teleport-Vhazl quest, Seihi said he'll come too. While we're at it, I plan to help those who needs 5-1.

I'm also planning on selling a lot of my current stuff to raise money for my new armor, hopefully I won't regret selling my Knightly Armor (sp?)

Mae is level 70 now, I must agree leveling with parties can be such a rush! It's unlike what we're used to, slow and painful... and slow... and painful.

Aquarius defeated!

Mae and I encountered Aquarius for the 2nd time in Boyahda Tree, this time no one was there and we claimed it. Fight was going well although the pets didn't last very long, we were running out of pets pretty quick.

We actually got him to 1/4 HP, then this party whom I remember was also in Kuftal Tunnel camping Phantom Worm, took Aquarius from us ; ; /cry I remember the named of the pld, their whm was Dohihi and he was killed by Aquarius.

It was nice that this other bst named Gedde was actually getting pets from other locations to help us. The other group followed us hoping that we would die or lose the claim, which we did.

Its just a sad aspect of this game which is unfair to us bst, why we lose claim so quickly. While in a party and you're already running away from gob, it never seems to lose claim not until you're 2 steps away from zone.

Anyways, we had fun, it was our first try and Worm (a very nice mithra bst) advised us not to even attempt and fight Aquarius. ^^ but Mae never listens!

Yesterday I was finally able to finish my White Mage AF3 Glove piece. Thanks to Reece (pld55) and a bunch of other people in Vana'diel who decided to help us. After finishing the quest I immediately warped back to Jeuno and started Boghertz Wild Hands to get my Beastmaster AF's. I'm lvl 56 Beastmaster now, I leveled with Mae and Mea last night in Garliage Citadel. We fought Hellmines and Magic Jugs, it was fun, although we really couldn't understand each other very well. Anyways, there's nothing much to say once you get the rhythm of how a fight in a particular zone goes.

I reached lvl 56 with no buffer around 3am, I was so tired but enjoyed leveling with Mae, I wonder if she's related to Mea.

Finally I also decided to buy that new Scythe I've been hoping to buy for days now, cost me 100k, but it looks bad ass so I guess its worth it. I have to level up my scythe skills though to make full use of my demonslicer, although I'll probably never use this in a duo/exp party, it sill looks neat while walking around and for farming.

I had a wonderful time with my folks and we had a white Christmas! I love snow, but only for 2-3 days at most, afterwards I get tired shoveling it off the driveway.

Thanks to my hommie Wiz and his bst friend Jelley and to Sneaky who came along to help me get my bst AF2. So I got my bst axe and shoes now, have a problem with the other AF though coz I have started the healing hands quests.

Wow its almost Christmas, as usual SE got another sucky event for the year. I got a tree from bastok and that's about all i'll ever need to get my holiday fix. My bst character is lvl 52 now, thanks to that wonderful taru, xaphan.

I've also done a couple of BCNM40, I remember back when I was starting as bst, get enough money and then go back to my whm. But each time I try to look for party for my whm it always seems to remind me how better bst is.

So far the drops that I received from BCNM are Utsusemi: Ni, Erase x2 (used one for my whm) and Phalanx. All of a sudden I have money now, but I was sad when I found out that Broli can't join in with us ; ;

Its just not gonna work, I did a BCNM with a blm, he cast sleepga and we charm all the bunnies, with 6 bst its even easier. But what would a rdm do in a 5 bst 1rdm party? ; ; I'm gonna try and post in Allakhazam and see what others bst think.

It finally came... the moment I've been waiting for. I am now a true beastmaster, I can now command creatures in Vana'diel to join my cause and also command them to leave when their job is done.

^^ 34 long levels, I would have never arrived to 35 if it wasn't for my friends, to those who cheered me up when exp is slow. To those high level bst who never tire of sharing their wisdom.

Woot!!! I just defeated this NM (bragging) as a lvl 28 bst ^^

So here's the rest of the story... I was exping in Qufim Island making chains every now and then, when things start getting a bit slow. So to spice things up, I decided to con one of the Weapons. It checked as T so... I sent a couple of clippers and got good exp.

I kept doing this for several hours, then this one weapon I engaged seemed to be tough... too tough! Coz it has taken me 5 clippers to bring it to 3/4 health. Then I checked it {Impossible to gauge!} then my heart paced faster I knew all my skills as bst would be put to a test now.

I didn't care if it dropped anything I was just hoping to leave through this ordeal. The high lvls in Qufim who I guess were camping this guy and are pretty pissed that I got to him first started following me. Being the positive thinker that I am, I thought they following to help me. Not so it seems... I begged for cure and not a single one of them cured me, even the high lvl white mage.

So I charmed a T pugil then used my 2hr, finally that got me to 1/2 its HP... still a long way to go. My MP is almost gone, I was able to recover some HP and MP after using my 2hr as it took kinetix some time to kill my pugil.

Eventually after sending every mob in my sight against this abomination I killed it. After that my knees were shaking I had to go inside the tower to compose myself.

Truly a very exhilirating experience... one that made me love bst even more. I'm lvl 30 now... can't wait for 35. Thanks to the tips of Nishnabe... this guy is the coolest bst in Laksmhi!

Khamen and I also unlocked dragoon last nite, I plan to unlock Paladin today.

(-_-) Our static group is no more, after weeks of partying together our string of bad luck just went on one night after the other. I knew this was coming, kinda felt it days before it happened, the Thf was the first to lose interest cause I believed he wanted to level Ranger more.

Then our Paladin, he died so much in Quicksand Caves and Kuftal Tunnel that he just couldn't bear it anymore.

Currently, I'm leveling Beastmaster with Khamen, so far we're the only ones who seem to have stuck together.

Look the circus is in town!

I feel so rested and after a couple of days of not playing FFXI... well I thought I was over my addiction (^^) 'til it was time to go back home... amazingly I forgot that my computer was on auto-power ON (it powers itself on at 7am each day) So even though I turned it off when I left, when I came back its like it was waiting for me... begging for me to logon.

Well anyway, we visited Terrigan tonight and then headed to Crawlers Nest, had a bad exp session... I wonder how long will my group last if this series of bad luck continues.

Genkai 1

(^_^) We finally completed Genkai 1 last night, kudos to the kind team of the LS ShadesofBlue (I hope I got the LS name right) Khamen, Alric and I needed the 3 items to complete the quest so that we can start leveling again.

We got the exoray mold while we were leveling in Crawlers Nest. Alric who's always unlucky when its time to lot didn't get one until last night. Anyways finding the Papyrus proved to be a pain in the you know where. It took us hours of killing Mummies and undead in Eldiem Necropolis, I believe I even fell asleep while we were doing it. Well about 3am we finally got the drop we needed, I couldn't thank them enough for staying. I mean I'm not even on their LS and they still stayed there.

I'm looking forward to leveling with the gang again, I have about 70k now and I hope I get another 50k sometime this week from someone. ^_^ Lvl 37 fishing now, hopefully when I get to 50 I can start my Lu Shang quest. I've caught a Bastore Bream every now and then in South Gustaberg, but I bet with Lu Shang's, all those "Fish too small" messages would turn out to be
Bastore Breams = 1.2k each.

I'm so glad our group has a very helpful and ingenous paladin (who can navigate dungeons from printed maps) We finally completed Rank 4 missions and we are now Rank 5! There were 3 of us Khamen (smn50), Alric (pld50) and me (whm50).

"I think its about time that Fujiko's group finally decided to take a break from leveling. They hope to get Rank 5 and also to finish the Genkai Quest so that they can advance in level.

As for Fujiko, he's a bit confused right now, he needs gil and at the same time wants to level ranger bad. He needs gil for new equipment and also to fund the ranger job.

How does he plan to do it? Well, its something like this... fish in La Theine and earn as much as possible. While doing that he hopes to reach Lvl 11 Cooking and then start leveling it to 21'ish.

When that happens he can start making insect paste and start selling moat carps. He plans to use excess carps (as if that's ever going to happen) for the Lu Shang's Quest in San d'Oria."

I just recently read this article in Wired and I was shocked at how people exploit MMORPG's to make money. It's bad enough that I had to compete with "real hunters" when farming but now I have to compete with bots too.

When I went fishing I've noticed several fishers before who didn't even respond or didn't even help someone that was being attacked by a goblin. That made me realize that they are possible bots, but I have no way of confirming though.

I for one would like to participate in hunting this bots and aggroing the crap out of them, but I guess that would be difficult say for example its a level 75 bot, geez what mob can u pull that would aggro them?

Things aren't going quite right with Fujiko lately. Our party seems to be gimped... and I'm stuck at Lvl49 :( Alric died again last night, I feel my hands are soaked in so much blood I'm afraid to play white mage again.

I blame my crappy gear, Holy Breastplate, Holy Clogs, Air Solea, Friars Rope, Electrum Ring, Saintly ring, AF1 Hammer, White Cape, etc. You get the picture and it's not pretty, lack of the right spells... Some kind stranger gave me Barsilencera, I can't thank him enough for doing that.

I have no {Erase} yet, teleport I got are {dem, mea and holla}, so we had to pay if we wanted to tele to altep. I'm lucky to make 5k on teleporting in Bastok! My fishing has gone down the drain too... oversupply of Rusty Caps.

Have to level fishing again... I hope to see light at the end of the tunnel... right now I plan to go on a fishing trip to East Saruta Baruta.

Perfect aim, I have again tried a new job, this time as a ranger. What defines rangers I guess is their skill in using ranged weapons and disposing of monsters swiftly.

I have proven this to be true... It's amazing what damage I could do at lower levels... 100+ dmg is not uncommon. I annihilate even match foes as if they were nothing. And my 2 hour ability is just awesome and has proven to be a life-saver, not only for me but for my party.

My white mage is a failure...

I feel so bad that Alric died on 3/3 of our fights tonight. I keep on getting silence and as a white mage, being able to open my trap and cast spells is very important, heck that's the only reason they would want me to stay.

Anyways, my equipment are also outdated, would u believe I'm using the same pants my lvl17 ranger is using at my current Lvl 49.

I was able to keep up before with spells and equipment because I had time to farm, fish and sell my stuff. I had even taken cooking to Lvl 10, but now I just don't have enough time.

Finally the sequel to NFSU is supposed to be released this November, NFSU2. I can't wait for the days to pass by. This is so far the only game that can make me stop playing Final Fantasy XI, I just sit around, grab the steering and shift into high gear! BTW, they also mentioned that Brooke Burke will be on this game ^_^

Castle Oztroja, I visited this place last night, I saw lots of Yagudo's. I didn't go to the second floor coz I think most of the people there were all above lvl 50. I also saw the remains of a giant beast in Meriphataud Mountains. It stretched across the land, what a mighty beast this bones must have belonged too. I only wish that he died of old age and not against something mightier than he is!

Got the last key we needed from Ghelsba, I had fun doing Lvl 2 Renkei with Flo, we were doing Frost Bite > Brainshaker = Fragmentation and I'd do Magic Burst: Thunder. Getting those keys I say were real easy. And my theory is that the more SC and MB you do, the more drops you'll get. Just a theory though.
